Chiozza is a very pretty, friendly village in the Apennine mountains, 10km (15 minutes) from the well known market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (which has a train station on the main Pisa – Lucca – Aulla line) and 75km (just over 1 ½ hours drive) to Pisa airport.

The medieval hilltop town of Barga is 20km (30 mins) away, Bagni di Lucca is 35km (45 mins) while the beautiful walled city of Lucca is 55km (just over1 hour) away.

A 10 minute drive takes you up to the small local ski resort at Passo delle Radici (9km) while the large resort of Abetone is about 45 minutes. The coast (Forte dei Marmi) is about 1 hour 15 mins away.

The front door opens onto a welcoming, airy hallway with kitchen to the right and lounge to the left. The kitchen (about 4m x 4m) has wooden beams, terracotta floor tiles, corner ash pot (used in the olden days for washing linens) and open fire with wood burning stove. It is fully equipped (including dishwasher) with marble worktop and marble sink.

The lounge (about 4m x 4m) also has beamed ceiling and terracotta floor tiles. There is a lovely corner fireplace and great views from the window.

Wooden stairs lead to the first floor which has 2 carpeted bedrooms (both doubles – each about 4m x 4m) with beamed, sloping ceilings and lovely views. One of the bedrooms has a wood burning stove in the corner.

Outside there is a lovely terrace with far-reaching, south facing views as well as a loggia for “al fresco” dining and relaxation. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold running water.
